What you are agreeing to when you accept a volunteer staff role on DMZ Ragnarok.
Version 1.0 · Last updated 21 September 2026
Every acceptance is recorded against a version number. If we change this agreement we publish a new version and ask you to read and accept that one. Your old acceptance stays as a record of what you agreed to at the time, and it is never quietly swapped for new wording.
This agreement is written in English, and the English wording is the official one. The Spanish version on this page is a courtesy translation to help you understand it. If the two ever disagree, the English wording is what applies.
This is the agreement between you and Ragnarok Studios LLC ("Ragnarok Studios", "we", "us") about being a staff member on DMZ Ragnarok, in our Discord, and anywhere else our community runs. When you accept a staff role, you are accepting this.
It is deliberately short and written in plain English, because you should be able to read the whole thing before you agree to it. If any part of it is unclear, ask an owner or a head of staff before you accept. Do not accept something you do not understand.
There are two documents. The Standard Operating Procedures are how the job is done: the chain of command, how tickets are handled, how rules are enforced. This page is what you agree to. Read the procedures first, then accept this.
Contents
1.1 You are a volunteer from the community. You are offering to help out with a server you already play on, in your own time, because you want to.
1.2 You are not paid. There is no wage, no salary, no hourly rate, no bonus and no payment of any kind for staff work, and you should not expect any.
1.3 You are not an employee of Ragnarok Studios LLC. You are not a contractor, a worker for hire, a partner or an agent of the company either. Nothing in this agreement creates a job.
1.4 Staff sometimes get in game perks, ranks, cosmetics or tools so they can do the job or as a thank you. Those are not pay. They can be changed or taken back at any time, and you are not owed them.
1.5 You have no set hours under this agreement and you are not owed any. Nobody has to give you a shift, a task or an amount of work, and this agreement does not require you to be online at any particular time.
1.6 If a role at Ragnarok Studios ever becomes paid, that would be a separate written agreement signed at the time. This one never turns into that.
2.1 A lot of what you will see as staff is not public. Treat staff information as private by default. If you are not sure whether something is public yet, ask before you share it.
2.2 Confidential information includes:
2.3 Do not share confidential information with anyone outside the staff team. That includes friends, other servers, other communities, streams, videos, screenshots, social media and private messages. It includes the friend who is definitely not going to tell anyone.
2.4 Do not post screenshots or recordings of staff channels or staff tools, including as a joke and including to show off what you have access to.
2.5 Only use confidential information to do your staff job. Do not use it for yourself, for your friends, or for another server or project.
2.6 Once we have announced something publicly, it is no longer confidential. Until then, assume it is, even if a lot of people seem to know already.
2.7 This section keeps applying after you stop being staff. There is no end date on it.
2.8 If the law requires you to hand something over, that is fine, but tell an owner first if you are allowed to.
3.1 If you find an exploit, a dupe, a crash, a permission hole, or any other way to break or cheat the server, it is confidential. Report it internally and straight away, to an owner or through the staff bug tracker.
3.2 Do not use it. Not on your account, not on an alt, not to test it, not once. If it needs testing, ask first and test where you are told to.
3.3 Do not tell other players about it, do not post it, do not stream it, and never sell it, trade it or hand it to anyone outside the team.
3.4 Items, currency or progress obtained through an exploit are not yours to keep, whoever got them. We can remove them from any account.
3.5 Reporting something you found by accident will not get you in trouble. Sitting on it, quietly using it, or passing it along will.
4.1 Players hand us information because they trust the server. Names, Discord accounts, email addresses, IP addresses, purchase records, appeal contents, ban history and anything else attached to a real person is private.
4.2 Only look at player information when you need it for a specific staff task you are actually working on. Curiosity is not a reason. Looking someone up because you know them, because you are arguing with them, or because a friend asked you to, is not allowed.
4.3 Never share player information with anyone outside the staff team. That includes the player's friends, and it includes players who just want to know who reported them.
4.4 Never reveal where someone lives, who they are in real life, or anything else that identifies them, and never help anyone else do it. This one ends a staff role immediately.
4.5 Do not copy player data out of our tools. No exports, no spreadsheets, no saved lists, no personal backups, unless an owner asks you to make one.
5.1 Staff access exists so you can help players. That is the only reason you have it.
5.2 Do not use staff tools, commands or access for your own benefit, for an alt account, or for your friends. That covers items, currency, ranks, stats, cosmetics, kits, teleports, spawning, creative mode, world editing, and anything else a normal player cannot do.
5.3 Do not give out items, currency, ranks, permissions, roles or access outside the documented process. If there is no process for what you are being asked to do, the answer is no until an owner says otherwise.
5.4 Do not lift punishments, edit records or change somebody's account because you know them or because they asked nicely. Follow the process every time.
5.5 Do not accept money, gifts, in game currency, items, accounts or favours in exchange for anything staff related. If somebody offers, report it.
5.6 Do not use your rank to pressure, threaten or intimidate players, and do not use it to win an argument you are personally in.
5.7 If you are personally involved in something (a friend, someone you have history with, your own guild or base) hand it to another staff member instead of actioning it yourself.
5.8 If you make a mistake, say so straight away. A reported mistake is a small problem. A hidden one is a big one.
6.1 Your access is yours alone. Do not share your account, your password or your staff logins with anyone, including other staff, friends and family.
6.2 Use a strong password, and turn on two factor authentication everywhere it is offered.
6.3 Do not let anyone else play on an account that holds staff permissions, and never sell, lend or give away such an account.
6.4 Tell us immediately if your account is compromised, if you shared something by accident, or if you think somebody else has got in. Fast and embarrassing beats slow and expensive.
6.5 When your staff role ends, your access ends with it. Hand back anything you were given, stop using staff tools, and delete any staff only material you still hold.
6.6 Do not keep your own copies of server files, worlds, databases, configs, code or assets, on your machine or in cloud storage, unless an owner asked you to.
7.1 Work you make for DMZ Ragnarok as part of the staff role belongs to Ragnarok Studios LLC. That covers builds, world edits, schematics, models, textures, art, configs, quests, scripts, documents and tools.
7.2 We can use it, change it, keep it or remove it, without asking you again later.
7.3 You keep the credit for what you made. We are happy to say who built what, and we usually do.
7.4 Do not take that work elsewhere. Copying builds, configs, models or code to another server is not allowed, during the role or after it.
7.5 If you want to bring something you already made and keep owning it, say so in writing to an owner before you put it on the server. Otherwise 7.1 applies to it.
7.6 Never put anything on the server that you do not have the right to use. No art, models, builds, code or music taken from somewhere else without permission.
8.1 You can step down at any time, for any reason, including no reason. Tell an owner or a head of staff, hand back what you hold, and that is it.
8.2 We can end your staff role at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.
8.3 Either way, nobody owes anybody anything. There is no notice period, no final payment and no severance, because the role was never paid.
8.4 Sections 2, 3, 4, 6.5, 6.6, 7 and 9 keep applying after the role ends.
8.5 Staff who go quiet are stood down so the position can go to somebody who wants it. That is covered in section 10 and it is not a punishment.
8.6 Leaving the team does not mean losing the server. You are still welcome as a player, and plenty of people have come back later.
9.1 You lose your staff role, immediately, and every piece of access that came with it.
9.2 Depending on what happened, you can be banned from the server, from the Discord and from any other Ragnarok Studios community, and that ban can be permanent.
9.3 Anything you gained by breaking this agreement can be removed, from your account and from any account you passed it to.
9.4 We may tell the staff team that you were removed and why, so the people covering for you know what happened.
9.5 For a serious leak, or for damage you caused on purpose, Ragnarok Studios LLC may take it further. That can include legal action to stop it and to recover what it cost us, reporting it to the platforms involved, and reporting it to the police where a crime has been committed. We do not expect to ever need this. It is written down because it matters.
9.6 A mistake that you report yourself is treated very differently from something you hid or did on purpose. Own it early.
10.1 This agreement is not everything that is expected of you day to day. The Standard Operating Procedures, the rules posted in Discord, and instructions from owners and heads of staff cover how the job is actually done, and those can change without a new version of this page.
10.2 There are a limited number of staff positions and each one carries real access and real trust. A position held by somebody who has gone quiet is a position a willing person cannot have, so the staff team sets an activity expectation for each role and stands people down who are not meeting it. That is roster management: it keeps the team the size it needs to be. It is not work you owe us, there is no debt and nobody is in trouble.
10.3 If life gets busy (exams, a new job, anything at all) tell a head of staff or an owner before you go quiet. An absence you told us about is not inactivity, and we will hold your place where we can.
10.4 Stepping back to a quieter role, or stepping down entirely, is a normal thing to do. You can do it at any time and there are no hard feelings either way.
10.5 If the Standard Operating Procedures and this agreement ever disagree on something this agreement covers, this agreement is the one that counts.
11.1 A lot of our community is young, and that is fine. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian knows you have taken on a volunteer staff role and is happy with it.
11.2 Nothing here is worth losing sleep, school or your own time over. If the role is too much, step down. That is a normal thing to do and nobody will think less of you for it.
11.3 You cannot be staff if you are below the minimum age for Discord or Minecraft in your country.
12.1 This agreement carries a version number and a date, at the top of this page. Both are part of it.
12.2 If we change anything that matters, we publish a new version and ask every staff member to read and accept that version. Your acceptance of an older version stays on record as what you agreed to at the time.
12.3 If you do not accept a new version, you cannot keep a staff role. That is not a punishment, it just means there is no agreement between us.
12.4 Small corrections that do not change the meaning of anything (a typo, a broken link, clearer wording) can be made without a new version number, and the date at the top will still change.
13.1 This page is the whole agreement between you and Ragnarok Studios LLC about being staff. Something said in chat does not change it.
13.2 If any part of this turns out not to be enforceable where you live, the rest of it still stands.
13.3 If we do not act on a breach straight away, that does not mean we have given up the right to act on it.
13.4 This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, and by the federal law of the United States.
13.5 DMZ Ragnarok is a fan project. It is not affiliated with Bandai, Toei, Mojang or the DragonMineZ team. Being staff does not make you a representative of any of them, and you must not speak publicly on behalf of Ragnarok Studios LLC unless an owner has asked you to.
14.1 When you accept, you are saying: I have read this agreement, I understand it, I agree to it, and I am accepting it for myself.
14.2 We record who accepted, which version they accepted and when. That record is what "accepted the terms" means later, which is exactly why the version at the top of this page matters.
14.3 If any of this does not sit right with you, do not accept it. Nobody will be annoyed with you, and you are still welcome as a player.
Questions before you accept? Ask an owner or a head of staff in our Discord. Asking first is always fine.
